RRB JE 2026 Notification

The original CEN No. 04/2026 for Junior Engineer and Depot Material Superintendent was published on 13 August 2026. Subsequently, RRB issued Corrigendum-1 on 18 August 2026, introducing the Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant post and making other changes.

The revised recruitment notification is now referred to as CEN No. 04/2026 (JE/DMS/CMA).

Candidates should carefully read the official notification before submitting the application because the selected RRB and several details entered during account creation cannot be changed later.

RRB JE Eligibility Criteria 2026

The educational qualification depends on the post and examination group selected by the candidate.

Junior Engineer

Candidates generally need a three-year Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent B.E./B.Tech qualification in the discipline relevant to the particular JE post.

Eligible engineering groups include:

  • Mechanical & Allied Engineering
  • Electrical & Allied Engineering
  • Electronics & Allied Engineering
  • Civil & Allied Engineering

Relevant disciplines can include Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology and Civil Engineering, as applicable to the selected exam group.

Depot Material Superintendent

Candidates applying for DMS should possess a three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline or an equivalent higher qualification from a recognized institution.

Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant

The CMA post was introduced through Corrigendum-1.

Applicants should have a B.Sc. degree with Physics and Chemistry and at least 45% marks from a recognized University/Institute.

The prescribed combinations include:

  1. Physics as the major/specialization/Honours subject with Chemistry as a subject.
  2. Chemistry as the major/specialization/Honours subject with Physics as a subject.
  3. Another eligible Science subject as the major/specialization/Honours subject, with both Physics and Chemistry studied as subjects.

Candidates must possess the required qualification by 13 September 2026. Those waiting for their final qualifying examination results are not eligible.
