The Central Board of Secondary Education has  has officially released the notification for CTET September 2026 examination. Candidates who are planning to become teachers for Classes 1 to 8 can now submit their online application forms through the official CTET portal. The online registration process has started from 11 May 2026 and the last date to apply is 10 June 2026.

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is one of the most important teaching eligibility exams in India. Qualified candidates become eligible to apply for teaching posts in central government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya, and other CBSE-affiliated institutions.

CTET September 2026 Eligibility Criteria

CTET Primary Level (Class 1 to 5)

Candidates must fulfill any one of the following conditions:

• Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and Diploma in Elementary Education.
• Senior Secondary with 45% marks and Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE norms.
• Senior Secondary with 50% marks and pursuing or passed B.El.Ed.
• Senior Secondary with 50% marks and Diploma in Education (Special Education).

CTET Junior Level (Class 6 to 8)

Applicants should meet any one of these eligibility conditions:

• Graduation with Diploma in Elementary Education.
• Graduation/Post Graduation with minimum 50% marks and B.Ed.
• Graduation with 45% marks and B.Ed according to NCTE regulations.
• Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed.
• Senior Secondary with 50% marks and B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
• Graduation with minimum 50% marks and Special Education qualification.
• Post Graduation with 55% marks and integrated B.Ed-M.Ed course.
